DollarSprout is looking for an Assistant Editor who is eager to join a quickly growing team.

This position will involve working closely with a Managing Editor to develop, maintain, and improve our library of content. 

As an Assistant Editor, you will play a key role in helping our 1M+ monthly readers easily understand complex financial topics. DollarSprout readers come to our site for simple, clear, actionable explanations and insights to their money questions. 

The ideal candidate has past editorial or journalism experience, but that is not required. A background in personal finance and/or search engine optimization best practices is strongly preferred.

Your Job Responsibilities:

  • Work under supervision of Managing Editor to execute ongoing evergreen content revision.
    • Main content revision goals:
      • Improved depth and quality
      • Up to date statistics, citations, etc
      • Interlinking to new content
      • Implement SEO best practices
  • Provide timely compliance updates to articles upon request.
  • Help identify new content opportunities.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Has 1-2 years of editing and writing experience.
  • Working knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices or ability to quickly learn.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or other related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in financial services journalism or content creation with a basic understanding of compliance guidelines.
  • Is comfortable working remotely. This position is 100% remote, so strong communication skills and self-starting initiative are musts.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $30,000-$35,000 salary depending on experience
